Toil, Harvest, Breathe…

Magick takes work. Community takes work. Creativity, passion, friendships, significant other relationships, charity takes work. Personal care takes work. In other words… LIFE takes work.
When I was pondering this months newsletter, I thought about Lammas / Lughnasadh, the second harvest and all the blessings that come with this time of year. And the workinvolved to make it happen.

Which lead met to the word: Toil.

I know what the word means and I’m sure you do too. But what surprised me when I looked up the meaning of the word in the dictionary was how the word could be used both positively and negatively.
This summer I have toiled over many projects, mine and those for others. Many more than I had originally anticipated and I will admit that sometimes it’s been overwhelming. But the beauty of it is that it just takes a moment to ask for help. To accept the hand that is either reached out to you or settling in next to you to help you with the work. And to appreciate the process of toiling over a task. To know that the “task performed by such effort” will yield a great harvest. In essence, the hard work will be worth it in the end.

As I stare at the garden full of weeds… I take a deep breath and am grateful for the opportunity to work hard at something that has meaning. Be it the nature garden at home or The Nest or the garden of my Spirit or my Community.

Perspective is everything.

Blessed Be,
Robbi
