Shamanic Autumn Equinox: Keeping the Fire Burning

Autumn Equinox is a moment of balance of light and dark before we descend into the season of winter darkness and go within. We take the sacred flame burning in the center of our hearts with us to light the way and turn it into hearth fire to keep us warm. September 20 is also our second harvest. What seeds do we want to collect from our harvest to save for spring planting? What needs to be let go for compost? We separate grain from the chaff. Let us gather in the center of light and dark collecting our seeds and creating the intentions for what we want to carry into the future that may grow next spring and dream on these seeds through winter!  Let us journey together as community, preparing to enter the earth.

Shamanism has been practiced in many ways for thousands of years. Primal rituals that travel us through many interior realms of the selve as well as outer worlds. In this ritual we use primal tools of rattles, journey work, visualization and some core tools as our ancestors did so long ago, to honor what the outer world is doing during equinox and to align to its magick and move those powers within us!

In this Autumn Equinox Ritual, we align to the sacred flame within us and invite its power to guide us through the season of darkness. What seeds of potential will we take with us as we prepare for winter dreaming? What will we discard that no longer serves us?
